Siemens establishes Center of Knowledge Interchange

in Denmark

Establishing Siemens' first Center of Knowledge Interchange outside Germany, Denmark was an obvious choice.

Why Denmark?

Establishing our first Center of Knowledge Interchange outside Germany, Denmark was an obvious choice. The Danish technical University is one of the world’s leading universities – especially within healthcare, energy, and industry. Today, Siemens has R&D and manufacturing facilities in Denmark within all three business areas.

Danes welcome new challenges and ideas, and really know how to commercialise Siemens’ inventions and make use of them. And because Denmark is a small country, it is also perfect as a test market for Siemens. Whenever we establish projects, we seek top competences; and that is exactly what we got with DTU.

John Finnich Pedersen, Communication Director, Siemens A/S

Siemens' reasons for choosing Denmark

  • To stay ahead, Siemens needs cooperation with the best, most innovative and forward looking universities worldwide. The Danish Technical University fulfils these criteria, and has a long tradition for cooperating with private companies.
  • DTU has top competencies within Siemens technology fields: Power Engineering and Environment, Transportation, Healthcare and Automation.
  • Denmark offers a long standing tradition of design, innovation, functionality and strong user-producer linkages.
  • The establishment of the CKI provides Siemens with insight into the latest inventions, contact to the world class researchers and potential future employees.
