B&O Medicom to extend its "intelligent drug administration" portfolio with new product

Berlingske Tidende Online reports today that Bang & Olufsen's health care division B&O Medicom is set to extend its growing business with an elegantly designed high-tech tablet dispenser, as part of its "intelligent drug administration" portfolio. The company already develops and produces insulin pens for Danish medical giant Novo Nordisk, as well as inhalation systems. B&O Medicom has a workforce of 290 people, of which 60 are employed in the development department which cooperates with a number of Danish hospitals and universities.

The new electronic tablet dispenser is designed to house the blister packs that many prescription drugs are supplied in, and helps ensure that patients take the right medicine, at the right dose, at the right time. Besides being a digital aide memoire, the dispenser is designed to give patients feedback on how well they are complying with the prescribed dosage regime.
