Danish Bluetooth initiative makes all the right noises

GN ReSound launches Bluetooth headset that enables the partly deaf to use mobile phones with ease

GN ReSound has launched a wireless headset for mobile telephones which can be used together with the company's hearing aids. The headset, which uses Scandinavian-driven Bluetooth technology, offers the hard-of-hearing much greater convenience when using mobile phones. Voice signals from the mobile phone are received by the headset and transmitted wirelessly to the hearing aid, which then passes on the sound audibly to the user without uncomfortable levels of distortion. Since about 10% of the world's population has some kind of hearing loss, the potential for the new headset is enormous. The Bluetooth headset will be marketed under the GN ReSound brand. The news is reported by Jyllands-Posten.

GN ReSound Group, a subsidiary of GN Great Nordic A/S, is the leading international manufacturer of advanced technology hearing instruments. The company ranks among the leaders in its industry, with subsidiaries in 19 countries and distributors in 60 countries. GN ReSound is headquartered in Copenhagen and currently employs 3,200 people.
