Sonofon links with End2End to launch its first downloadable Java applications

Danish telecoms company Sonofon has announced the launch of its first set of downloadable Java applications together with the leading European Mobile Application Infrastructure Provider (MAIP) End2End. Sonofon is one of the first operators in Europe to launch downloadable Java applications, which have led to a significant average revenue per user (ARPU) increase for data in advanced markets such as Korea and Japan where data already contributes over a quarter of operator revenues.

Sonofon was incorporated in 1991 and is currently the second largest telecompany in Denmark with over 1 million mobile subscribers and turnover of more than DKK 3 billion (USD 400 million). End2End operates a carrier-grade network of data centres from which it delivers managed data services, technology hosting and outsourcing services to operators, portals and other companies.
