New study by Accenture ranks Denmark European leader and in the world's top 5

According to CNN Online, Denmark has been ranked 5th in the world, and the European leader, in a new international research study "eGovernment Leadership" conducted by Accenture. The study analysed digital public services to citizens and businesses in 23 countries around the world, and examined 169 services in 9 different sectors.

The key contributing factors to Denmark's world class ranking were its success in introducing web-based self service systems, while at the same time building effective connections to individual case management. Finance Minister Thor Pedersen welcomed the news, adding that the government has an aim to prioritise the digital effort in order to make web-enabled public services available to citizens on a 24/7 basis.
