Denmark leads the cyberspace race

An EU report due to be published shows Denmark's pre-eminence as an e-country

According to the Danish daily financial paper Børsen, an upcoming EU report shows that Denmark is one of the leading e-countries in the EU. More Danish children have access to the internet in school, and Danish businesses have more computers than in the other EU countries. 75% of all employees in Denmark have computers at work compared with the EU average of 52%. Danish companies are also EU leaders in terms of purchasing via the internet.

Besides these three leading positions in the new benchmarking, Denmark is among the best in the EU when it comes to e-learning, research, business and communication with the authorities. According to the report, only Luxembourg comes within range of Denmark, while the figures for Sweden and Finland are only half as good.
