Denmark looks forward to cheaper phone calls in 2003

Call charge capping will lead to significantly cheaper calls abroad and to mobile networks
The Danish IT & Tele agency has price capped TDC's call charges and subscriptions for 2003. TDC (formerly Tele Danmark) is Denmark's largest telecompany. The minute price for calls to mobile networks in peak periods will decrease by 8.5% while the average price for phoning abroad is lowered by 9%. ISDN 2 private subscriptions will be reduced by 10.7% while the equivalent business subscription is decreased by 8.3%. Fixed net subscription charges however will be allowed to increase slightly. Assuming unchanged consumption between 1998 and 2004, a private subscribers telephone bill will have fallen by 24.9% in real terms. The news was reported by N-COM IT yesterday.
