Drug registration to be speeded up in Denmark

The Government aims to make Denmark a top three European country for drug registration by 2005
The government has a 3 year plan to make Denmark a top three European country for drug registration by accelerating the approval process for medicines, reports Børsen today. Presently Denmark is in 7th place in this regard. The Danish Medicines Agency operates under the Ministry of the Interior and Health, and administers the legislation on medicinal products, reimbursement on medicinal products, pharmacies, medical equipment and euphoriant substances. The main objective of the Danish Medicines Agency is to ensure that medicinal products that are used in Denmark are of satisfactory quality, are safe to use and have the desired effect.
