Four new IT competence centres in Funen and Jutland are currently being inaugurated. Following the opening of the Centre for Software Innovation (CSI) in Sønderborg, south Jutland on Friday, today sees the official opening of ISIS Katrinebjerg in Århus by the Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology. This new competence centre will specialise in interactive environments, pervasive healthcare and software development. CSI will develop software solutions for intelligent products.

The third centre to be opened is CISS, a competence centre in Aalborg in northern Jutland which will focus on electronic products with built-in software, such as modern car engines. The fourth centre to be opened is the Laboratory for Digital Media at Odense in Funen, a knowledge lab that will specialise for example on e-learning. Funding for all the new centres will be jointly provided by the State, local counties and municipalities, and private companies.
