Funen and Finland in reciprocal cooperation

IT industries in Funen and Finland seek to jointly develop novel IT applications

Erhvervsbladet Online reports today that the IT industries centred around Odense on Funen and Tampere in Finland (where Nokia has its HQ) have started a reciprocal cooperation to jointly develop IT innovations. A shared application from IT-Forum Funen and eTampere to develop tourist information microchips for mobile phones and laptops has already been submitted to the EU for financial support.

A Finnish IT delegation came to Odense last week to visit IT companies in the area. Nokia was especially interested in NIS Laboratoriet, which researches into speech recognition for use in computer applications. The delegation was also impressed by the strong competencies in robotics technology on Funen, both concerning development and practical use.
