Genzyme opens Nordic HQ in Denmark  

World leading US biotech company opens new Nordic HQ in Copenhagen today

Today sees the opening of US biotech company Genzyme Corporation's new Nordic Headquarters in Copenhagen. Activities will primarily focus on sales and marketing, but Genzyme will also use its Danish presence as a springboard for forming partnerships in Medicon Valley which can support R&D and clinical testing of new medical products. According to the director of Genzyme's Danish subsidiary, the principal reasons for choosing Copenhagen were the attractiveness of the infrastructure, the educational standard and the strong research environment in Medicon Valley, as well as its proximity to the European HQ in Holland. Genzyme is one of the world's largest biotech companies. It is divided into 3 divisions, Genzyme Biosurgery, Genzyme General and Genzyme Molecular Oncology, all three being independently quoted on the Nasdaq.
