Japanese Research Park forms agreement with Novi

Yokosuka Research park uses Novi model to further its research programme

Yokosuka Research Park in Japan, home to a large complex of laboratories testing new technology, has formed an agreement with Novi Research Park in Aalborg and Finland’s Technopolis in Oulu to develop new knowledge about wireless technology. Research is centred on wireless internet and mobile telephony beyond 3rd generation UMTS.

According to Technology Attaché Jens Uggerhøj at the Danish Embassy in Tokyo, the Japanese have been studying the North Jutland model where university, businesses and investors act in partnership. At Yokosuka Research Park, where such major names as Sony and Hitachi have a presence, a centre has been built on the lines of the Novi model to channel money to companies that can benefit from the research.
