Microsoft's takeover of Navision cleared by antitrust authorities

Microsoft has announced that on 4th July the corporation received confirmation that its acquisition of Navision, Denmark's largest software company, gained merger clearance in the UK. The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry decided not to refer the transaction to the Competition Commission, and thereby the takeover has been cleared by all antitrust authorities where Microsoft has applied for approval of the transaction.

Microsoft's purchase offer to Navision shareholders of DKK 300 per share expired Friday 5th July, and the corporation now waits to hear if the required 90% of Navision shareholders have agreed to the offer. The value of the proposed deal amounts to DKK 11 billion (USD 1.3 billion).
