Nationwide ADSL access

2002.07.02

95% of the Danish population may now access broadband connections to the Internet via the ADSL technique.

After 17 months of hard work, the telecom company TDC has completed a nationwide ADSL roll-out, involving the installation of ADSL equipment in more than 1800 telephone exchanges.

According to TDC, 165,000 Danes have now invested in an ADSL connection at home, but the company also experiences great interest from public institutions and private companies.

Also the Internet company Cybercity has launched an ADSL roll-out and expects to cover nationwide towards the beginning of next year. Cybercity has a total of 30,000 ADSL customers
