New expansion of IT district in Aarhus

Project hotel planned in new wave of building for Aarhus’ IT future

Aarhus University is extending the IT district which it is developing in Katrinebjerg, a former industrial area of the city, reports Erhvervsbladet today. The University has already built and renovated 4,500 m2 in the last three years. Now an adjoining piece of land is being cleared for a further 6,000 m2 to be built.

The Alexandra Institute A/S plans to create a project hotel housing research projects carried out in co-operation between the university and companies. The director of the Centre for IT Research, Morten Kyng, is reported as saying that a further 10,000 m2 building will be started around the end of the year. It is planned that new companies and development departments of existing companies will move into this new building.
