NorthDanish Flextronics produces 1 million mobile phones in a month

An order from Siemens for 33 million mobile phones helps boost production to record levels

NorthDanish Flextronics, part of the international Flextronics group, has produced no less than 1 million mobile phones in a month, reports the north Jutland based newspaper Nordjyske Stiftstidende. The production performance significantly outshines that of the sister company in Sweden, however NorthDanish Flextronics admits that luck has played a part. Each company operates as an individual entity with its own customers, and while the Swedish company is chiefly dependent on Ericsson, NorthDanish Flextronics has a close co-operation with Siemens and the recent order for 33 million mobile phones by the end of 2003 has provided a major boost. NorthDanish Flextronics also has an agreement with Kiss Technology for the production of DVD players; the company anticipates strong technological development in this area and sees home entertainment as a key part of its agenda in the future.

Headquartered in Singapore, Flextronics is the leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider focused on delivering operational services to technology companies. With revenues in 2002 totalling USD 13.1 billion and approximately 70,000 employees, Flextronics is a major global operating company with design, engineering, manufacturing and logistics operations in 28 countries and four continents.
