Novozymes joins fight against anthrax

New anti-anthrax enzyme from Novozymes interests US Defence Ministry

Berlingske Tidende Online reports today that Novozymes has been working on a project with the US Defence Ministry to develop enzymes which can be used to combat anthrax. The company now has an almost completed product which has turned out to be more effective than the researchers anticipated. The US Defence Ministry has invited Novozymes to a conference tomorrow, where the company will present information on the new product.

Novozymes currently sells more than 500 enzyme products in 120 countries. Since 1941 Novozymes has introduced almost every new industrial enzyme on the market, and is today the world's largest enzyme manufacturer. The Zealand-based company employs 3,400 people.
