Scandinavian Life Science Venture seeks to merge

Biotech investment fund SLS Venture is reported to be seeking cash rich partners

Jyllands-Posten reports today that the biotech investment fund Scandinavian Life Science Venture is looking for cash-rich partners to merge with. SLS Venture, whose owners include Novo, Danske Bank and Sweden's Sjätte AP Fund, was created three months ago and has a portfolio of 23 companies in the Nordic biotech, medico and medical sectors. Possible suitors for SLS Venture are reported to include Health & Brands, Investor Growth and Karolinska Investment Fund.

The Nordic biotech industry in general is hungry for fresh capital at the present time, while competition between the relatively small number of star performance companies is sharpening.
