Taiwanese company invests in Danish semiconductor firm

Sino-American Silicon Products invests around DKK 25 million in Zealand based semiconductor producer Topsil

The Taiwanese company Sino-American Silicon Products has invested around DKK 25 million (approx. USD 3.4 million) in the Danish semiconductor producer Topsil, following a three year period of contact with Invest in Denmark's and Copenhagen Capacity’s agent in Taiwan. In addition to the investment from Sino-American Silicon Products, Topsil has received a further DKK 25 million from the Belgian venture fund Sustainable Energy Ventures and the Danish funds Lønmodtagernes Dyrtidsfond and Kommunernes Pensionskasser. The new cash package will help improve the unsettled financial situation Topsil has experienced in recent times, and ensure that an advanced centre of competence in semiconductor technology is maintained in Denmark.

Founded in 1981, Hsinchu based Sino-American Products has 300 employees and manufactures various types of silicon wafers and button diodes.
