The Øresund fixed link proves its value to Ferring Pharmaceuticals

A third of the workforce at Ferring's new international centre in Copenhagen commutes daily from Sweden

The importance to the Øresund Region of the road-rail bridge connecting Sweden and Denmark is amply demonstrated by Ferring Pharmaceuticals, whose International Center opened in Copenhagen earlier this year. According to an article in Erhvervsbladet, no less than a third of the 350 staff make the 20 minute journey from Sweden each day across the bridge to the 20 storey tower in Copenhagen's new enterprise suburb of Ørestad. The proximity to the bridge has obvious advantages for Ferring in attracting competent workers from both the Swedish and Danish sectors of the Øresund Region.

Founded in the 1950s, Ferring Pharmaceuticals is today a research driven, speciality biopharmaceutical group active on global markets. The company identifies, develops and markets innovative products in the areas of endocrinology, gastroenterology, gynaecology, infertility and urology. In recent years Ferring has expanded beyond its traditional European base and now has operating subsidiaries in over 40 countries.
