Øresund Region's biotech workforce shows healthy growth

Symbion Science Park's biotech workforce has increased by 35% over the last year despite harsh economic climate
The size of the biotech industry workforce in the Øresund Region continues to grow despite the tough economic conditions, reports Berlingske Tidende today. New biotech start up companies in the Symbion Science Park have increased the combined workforce by 35% over the last year. According to Symbion, this growth shows that companies have gained a strong enough commercial foothold to manage the current spell of heavy weather generally affecting the biotech industry. The venture fund Symbion Capital A/S, which was founded in 2001 and has a reported DKK 300 million (USD 39 million) in its cash tank, is planning to make new biotech investments before the end of this year.
