Last Friday the Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Helge Sander inaugurated 3’s new customer centre in Ørestaden, Copenhagen

Last Friday the Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Helge Sander inaugurated 3’s new customer centre in Ørestaden, Copenhagen. The centre will serve the company’s customers in Denmark and Sweden and the first 50 Nordic employees have already started.

The Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Helge Sander emphasised three reasons why the opening of 3’s customer centre is an important event:

Firstly, the great satisfaction of seeing a major new player entering the Danish telemarket. Secondly, the multitude of information and communication technology opportunities arising from 3G mobile communication and thirdly, the pleasure of welcoming 3 on the Danish side of the Øresund region – in Ørestaden. The benchmark analysis which has been conducted in dialogue with Invest in Denmark shows that Denmark and in this case the Copenhagen area is an attractive place for innovative foreign companies which hopefully will inspire other companies to set up businesses in Denmark.

200 new jobs

3 has employed the first 50 people at the customer centre, and over the next 12 months 150 more staff will be added. The principal task for the new centre in Ørestaden will be servicing Danish and Swedish mobile customers who will be assisted in the traditional way via telephone, e-mail and sms, and in a more cutting edge way via video telephony and mms.
