Biomedico Forum in Aarhus seeks EFB connection

Aarhus based Biomedico Forum gets DKK 2 million in local government funding, and plans to become an EFB trading post

Aarhus County Council in Jutland has granted DKK 1 million to establish a secretariat for the Aarhus based Biomedico Forum, with the local municipality stumping up an equivalent contribution. Biomedico Forum is a network of local biotech companies and researchers which will use the grants to establish a professional organisation in order to market the region.

Biomedico Forum is attempting to become a trade office for the European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB) which has its headquarters in Frankfurt and offices in London and Paris. EFB has 2,900 members in 36 European and 37 non-European countries, and plans to open an office for innovation and functional genomics – which is a core area at Aarhus University.
