CSC acquires Scandinavian IT Group

The US based Computer Sciences Corporation has signed an agreement to acquire the SAS Group's IT company

Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) has signed an agreement with Scandinavia's largest airline and travel group, the SAS Group, to acquire its IT company the Scandinavian IT Group. The deal includes an outsourcing contract and has a total value of DKK 1.64 billion (USD 270 million) comprising the purchase price and future reductions in the SAS Group's IT costs over the next 5 years. SAS has an option to prolong the outsourcing contract with a further 4 years.

 

Under the terms of the contract SAS will purchase its IT services from CSC giving SAS annual savings of up to 25% of its IT costs to date. The IT services include consulting, system integration, application development and maintenance and IT infrastructure services such as ticket reservations and cargo control systems.

 

The Scandinavian IT Group has a workforce of 1200 people and provides the aviation industry with IT support services. CSC is a leading global IT services company headquartered in El Segundo, California. CSC has more than 92,000 people employed worldwide. The news is reported by daily national newspaper Jyllands-Posten and on the Scandinavian IT Group's website.
