Danaher Corporation tables bid for Radiometer  

Washington based Danaher makes a DKK 4.4 billion offer to acquire the Danish leader in blood gas equipment

Danaher Corporation has tabled an offer of DKK 4.4 billion (USD 704 million) to acquire the Danish medico company Radiometer, one of the world's leading manufacturers of blood gas equipment. Radiometer's parent company, which has 70% of the voting shares, has announced that it will accept the offer. According to Danaher it will maintain Radiometer's headquarters in Copenhagen as well as the Danish production facilities.


Danaher is headquartered in Washington D.C. and employs about 29,000 people worldwide. Its business activities include production of monitoring and measuring equipment, tools and components. Acquiring Radiometer will further strengthen Danaher's European position and establish a basis for growth in the medico-technical industry. Radiometer employs 1,700 people worldwide and has an annual turnover of DKK 1.8 billion (USD 288 million). It sells instruments and accessories for measurement of blood gas used for diagnosis and monitoring of critically ill hospital patients. The news is reported by national daily newspaper Politiken.
