Danionics lands key US order for pocket pc batteries

Danionics to supply batteries for pocket pc developed by OQO Corporation

Danish hi-tech battery supplier Danionics has signed an agreement to supply batteries for a new personal computer developed by San Francisco based OQO Corporation. The device is an ultra personal computer (UPC) which has the same capacity as a conventional portable PC with Microsoft Windows XP, but has been physically downsized to genuine pocket proportions.

Danionics will produce battery packs which each consist of battery cells, a patented protection print and a battery cassette. Deliveries of the batteries are expected to start Q3 this year. The order from OQO Corporation is Danionics' second order for batteries in the strategically important notebook segment. Last year Danionics signed an agreement with ViewSonic. The news is reported on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange website.
