Aarhus based fledgling biotech company Accip Biotech is ready to market its newly developed automated cell collector

Aarhus based fledgling biotech company Accip Biotech is ready to market its newly developed automated cell collector. The concept builds on an invention by a Danish doctor, who established the company together with two external investors. The cell collector is an advanced robot equipped device with a digital camera, pipette and image recognition software, which can collect specific cells from a Petri dish. The machine is very suitable for precisely and rapidly collecting pancreatic islet cells which are increasingly used in diabetes research. The cell collector also makes it possible to strongly accelerate high-throughput screening of drug candidate molecules. The news is reported by BiotechDenmark.dk.

Founded in 2002 as a spin off from Langerhans ApS, Accip Biotech A/S is an international innovative biotech company that develops, manufactures, markets, and services equipment for cell identification, cell isolation and cell collection in the biomedical field. The company is located in Aarhus close to the University and Science Park. Accip Biotech is currently in close contact with leading pharmaceutical companies and university laboratories researching in diabetes.
