Delta approved as Bluetooth chip testing centre

Knowledge centre Delta first in Europe approved by Ericsson to test Bluetooth chips

Copenhagen based knowledge centre Delta is the first company in Europe to be approved by Ericsson to test Bluetooth chips. Ericsson began development of Bluetooth in the early 1990s and has a large number of patents related to the short-reach radio technology. The approval means that chip developers which use Ericsson's IP core for Bluetooth chips can have their chip approved by Delta.

Delta's test facilities build on the company's collaboration with the US manufacturer of test equipment Agilent Technologies which has made its DKK 32 million (USD 5.1 million) test system Agilent 93000 SoC available to the company. Delta hopes that the new approval can lead to an extension of its test department so that in the long term not only Bluetooth chips can be approved but also actual Bluetooth products. The news is reported by Computerworld online.
