Deutsche Telekom's IT company will drive new tele offensive targeted at the wholesale market

Deutsche Telekom, one of the world's largest telecompanies, has established a presence in Denmark, reports computerworld.dk. Deutsche Telekom’s IT company T-Systems will be the driver for a new tele offensive which will initially be targeted at the wholesale market. Last winter, Deutsche Telekom acquired a high capacity Nordic tele-network from the insolvent Swiss telecompany Carrier 1.

Through T-Systems, Deutsche Telekom is also building a division which will sell data transmission to the 100 biggest Danish companies. Its reported objective is to become the leading company in Denmark for international data services for the major companies. AT&T, Worldcom and Equant (owned by France Telecom) are the main competitors in this market.
