IT security company gets capital injection

Danish IT security company Cryptico gets DKK 10 million capital injection from Northzone Ventures and the Danish Growth Fund

The Danish IT security company Cryptico has received a DKK 10 million (USD 1.4 million) capital injection from the Scandinavian venture company Northzone Ventures and the Danish Growth Fund. Combining chaos mathematics and computer science, Cryptico has developed a new encryption technology for data protection called CryptiCore. The new product is reported to encrypt at 1Gbit/second, between 5 and 10 times faster than other algorithms. The news was reported on the website of financial daily newspaper Børsen.

Northzone Ventures partner Arve Johan Andresen believes Cryptico’s technology has considerable commercial potential. The technology was presented at an international conference on encryption in February this year, and Cryptico is currently marketing the product in both the US and Europe. Cryptico was established in 2002 and is based in Copenhagen.
