Ministerial approval is given for a new university degree course in nano-bioscience at the University of Southern Denmark

Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Helge Sander has approved a new university degree course in nano-bioscience at the University of Southern Denmark. The new course supplements the degree course in nanotechnology at Copenhagen, Aarhus and Aalborg universities.

Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen has recently emphasised biotechnology and the medical industry as growth areas for Denmark, areas in which nanotechnology and nanoscience play a vital role in education and research. According to Helge Sander the new cross disciplinary degree programme will be clearly targeted to business. Future graduates in nano-bioscience are expected to pursue careers as entrepreneurs or researchers in high growth areas such as biomedicine, medico technology and biotechnology, he says. The news is reported by BiotechDenmark online.
