New nanotechnology initiative in Aalborg  

DKK 25 million deal entered between start-up company NanoNord and Aalborg University

A cooperation and joint financing agreement worth DKK 25 million (USD 3.5 million) has been entered between the newly established nanotechnology company NanoNord (based in Aalborg, Jutland) and Aalborg University. Up to 40 employees and students from Aalborg University including two institutes will move into NanoNord’s premises which contain advanced equipment for nanotechnological development and production.


Founder of NanoNord Ole Jensen has invested DKK 100 million (USD 14.3 million) in equipment to develop new products by means of nanotechnology. These will include loudspeakers and auxiliary medical equipment. A specific project which is expected to be launched in collaboration with the university involves sensor technology for measuring pulse, respiration and other parameters where the signals are received using wireless technology. The news is reported in financial daily newspaper Børsen.
