The 2002 annual accounts for Novo Nordisk IT show strong growth with a DKK 61 million surplus

The 2002 annual accounts for Novo Nordisk IT show strong growth with the company achieving a DKK 61 million (USD 9 million) surplus, almost double the DKK 35 million (USD 5 million) figure it achieved in 2001, writes computerworld.dk. Turnover increased from DKK 590 million (USD 86 million) in 2001 to DKK 649 (USD 95 million) in 2002. Novo Nordisk IT calls the results ‘very satisfying’, especially seen in relation to the general unrest in the IT market.

Director of Novo Nordisk IT, Torben Skriver says that the growth in earnings and turnover confirms that the company has made its IT services more effective and competitive to external suppliers to the Novo Nordisk group. Novo Nordisk IT supplies IT systems to the Novo Group in competition with 50 external suppliers, and also has customers outside the group. The company's long-term objective is to achieve up to 30% of its turnover from external customers, says Skriver.
