Price war looms as Tiscali slashes its broadband subscription prices

Internet supplier Tiscali has reduced the price of its broadband connection to just DKK 295 a month

Internet supplier Tiscali has reduced the price of its broadband connection to DKK 295 (USD 46) a month, a move that could well start a price war on the high speed internet access market. The new price, which includes unlimited broadband use per month, is substantially lower then the DKK 395 (USD 61) price offered by TDC and Cybercity.

According to the MD of Tiscali Denmark Lis Lysholm, the company believes that a broadband connection should be affordable for everybody, and is now backing up this philosophy by supplying cheaper rates. Figures from the National IT and Tele Agency shows that TDC (Denmark's largest telecompany) has the largest share of the market, followed by Cybercity and Tiscali. The news is reported by the online news service of Danish television channel TV2, which is celebrating 15 years of news reporting today.
