Copenhagen University appoints Dr. Reinhard Fässler from the Max Planck Institute to help establish the Bio Campus

Copenhagen University (KU) has appointed Dr. Reinhard Fässler from the Max Planck Institute in Germany to help establish the Bio Campus as a part of the university’s focused efforts to become a power centre for biotechnological research. The Bio Campus includes Science, the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the new biocentre BRIC at the National Hospital.

 

Dr. Fässler heads the experimental department at the Max Planck Institute, and from June 12 he is also an associate professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences at KU. Dr. Fässler will in particular contribute to establishing top class facilities for the university’s biotechnological and molecular research. The Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences Ralf Peter Hemmingsen says that Dr. Fässler's appointment is a part of their strategic efforts to become a key player in the Øresund region.
