Scandinavian market leader in newspaper software considers US acquisition

Danish IT company Saxotech gets DKK 10 million funding boost to expand on the US market

Danske Venture Partners, Danske Bank’s venture company, has invested DKK 10 million (USD 1.6 million) in the north Jutland IT company Saxotech which develops software for newspaper production. Saxotech, which is a market leader in Scandinavia, will use the money primarily for expansion on the US market. According to MD Anders Christiansen, Saxotech is also considering buying a US company.

 

Saxotech have great expectations of a software product which makes it easy to publish articles both on paper and online. Another of their niche areas is software which manages subscribers and analyses their consumption. Danske Venture Partners is one of the owners of Saxotech; this latest investment takes them to a shareholding of 31%. Other investors include the international investment company Vertex Management with a 23% shareholding and Kommunernes Pensionsforsikring with 20%. The news is reported by computerworld.dk
