The German mobile manufacturer is set to launch its new SX1 mobile phone before Christmas

Mobile manufacturer Siemens is ready to launch its mobile phone SX1 before Christmas. Siemens has great expectations of its advanced new phone primarily developed at the company's facilities in Aalborg, northern Jutland. According to Project Manager Peter Birk Andersen, more than 150 people have been involved in Aalborg and more than 100 at Siemens in Munich, Hanover and Ruhr, making it into one of Siemens' largest projects ever.

In principle SX1 is a computer in which programs can be installed including games, dictionaries and calculators. The programs are downloaded to the phone via the internet. Featuring wireless Bluetooth technology, SX1 includes a video player, camera, MP3 player and FM radio – you can also make good old fashioned phone calls with it. The price tag is expected to be around DKK 4,500 (USD 720). The news is reported by ComputerWorld online.
