The Aalborg based division, a part of the Wireless Terminal Business Unit, increased its turnover by 5% to DKK 215 million in 2003

The Aalborg based division of Texas Instruments, a part of the Wireless Terminal Business Unit, increased its turnover by 5% to DKK 215 million (USD 34 million) in 2003. The division develops platforms for mobile phones which manufacturers either can sell directly or build on. Managing director Kim Breum-Christensen says that the division has developed very positively, especially in the second half of 2003 due to skilful staff who can supply good products.

 

From 2002 to 2003 the number of people employed increased from 77 to 108 and the division plans to employ more people this year. Currently a new soundproof room is under construction which will be used for testing new products.

 

Texas Instruments is headquartered in Dallas and is the world's largest manufacturer of chips for mobile phones. In addition to the Aalborg division, it also has a division in Copenhagen where digital amplifiers are developed. The news is reported by Computerworld online.
