The world's largest supplier of programmes for analysis and visualisation of company data opens office in Denmark

The world's largest supplier of programmes for analysis and visualisation of company data, Business Objects, opens office in Denmark. Until now Business Objects has only been present in Denmark through partners of which Component Software is the largest. Sean Farrington, Nordic manager at Business Objects says the company aims to be No.1 in Denmark as it is worldwide. The Danish office will enable Business Objects to increase the competition with SAS Institute, Cognos and Hyperion.

Initially Business Objects will build an organisation consisting of pre-sales consultants and telesales staff. Mette Petersen, the newly appointed managing director of Business Objects in Denmark, says that an estimated 25 people will be needed to sell more to existing customers and to gain new customers.

Founded in 1990, Business Objects employs 3,900 people. In December 2003, it acquired the US company Crystal Decisions for DKK 5.5 bn (USD 935 mn). The company has headquarters in San Jose, California and Paris, France. The news is reported by financial newspaper Børsen.
