Danfoss sets up centre for entrepreneurs

Danfoss in Nordborg is currently setting up a new centre for entrepreneurs: Elsmark Entrepreneur Park – an incubator for new companies.
“So far, two new companies have moved into Elsmark Entrepreneur Park and a third is on its way”, says director Finn Breuning, Central Service. He underlines that there is no upper limit to how many new companies the incubator can hold.
Managing Director of Danfoss, Jørgen Mads Clausen, stresses that the establishment of Elsmark Entrepreneur Park underlines that the fund owning Danfoss has committed itself to working proactively for maintaining and strengthening business in South Jutland and Denmark.
“The concept is in place and we now have until fall to test it and see how it goes,” says Finn Breuning.
His section of Danfoss takes care of a number of central assignments for Danfoss’ three business areas, and furthermore for Sauer-Danfoss, Siemens, a.o. Assignments best and cheapest carried out jointly.
“We offer entrepreneurs with completely new companies favourable establishment conditions. They pay less rent than Danfoss and they receive what I will call good start-up discounts when they use our workshops and technical consultants. We offer them a very good kick-start and give them the possibility of minimizing costs”, says Finn Breuning.
Sharing know-how
Jørgen Mads Clausen points out that the concept behind Elsmark Entrepreneur Park furthermore involves that Danfoss wants to share the company’s know-how with the entrepreneurs.
This means that the entrepreneurs can start off more quickly and that they are not alone with the abundance of problems to solve when setting up a company.
Finn Breuning explains that the new companies in Elsmark Entrepreneur Park to some extent must involve Mechatronichs to fully benefit from Danfoss’ capacity and know-how.
The aim is that Elsmark Entrepreneur Park is to be economically self-sustaining.
“This is possible from a marginal consideration, as Danfoss already has the capacity – i.e. space, production facilities and expertise”, says Finn Breuning and stresses that the concept would not be financially possible without Danfoss.
So far, there has been little focus on spreading the news about the new opportunity for entrepreneurs in Nordborg.
“We have only informed our employees about spreading the word if they know of anybody with entrepreneurial aspirations. And they have. Now we are testing the concept and if it proves successful we will start marketing activities in the fall”, says Finn Breuning
