Danish Swedish medico company Millimed gains major investment  

Millimed has received a DKK 130 million investment from four venture funds for product development and preparation for a major market breakthrough

Danish-Swedish medico company Millimed has gained a DKK 130 mn (USD 21 mn) investment from the Danish Fund for Industrial Growth, Advent International, Scandinavian Life Science Venture and Bio Fund. The money will be used for product development and preparation for a major market breakthrough. Millimed specialises in developing and manufacturing medical devices such as stents and balloons for insertion in the blood vessels in the brain.


Millimed has product development, process design and manufacturing in Roskilde near Copenhagen, and sales and marketing in Helsingborg, Sweden. The company employs 45 people and recently extended its production facilities in Roskilde to 2,000 m2. Millimed's 2004 sales forecast is estimated at DKK 50 mn (USD 8 mn). The news is reported by financial newspaper Børsen online.
