Danish delegation to India gains collaboration agreement

India and Denmark enters collaboration agreement regarding stem cell and diabetes research

A delegation of representatives from the Danish corporate sector and research sector headed by Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Helge Sander, visited India last week to promote relations between the IT and biotech sectors of the two countries.

During his visit Helge Sander revealed that the delegation had been contacted by high ranking Indian civil servants from Delhi wishing to extend an agreement already signed Monday (25 October) concerning IT and biotech collaboration. The civil servants also wanted a research committee with members from both India and Denmark to be established. After some negotiation it was agreed to set up a committee with focus on stem cell and diabetes research. A coordinator will be appointed by Denmark as soon as possible.
