The Danish public sector health portal Sundhed.dk has won the prestigious eEurope Awards prize ahead of 31 finalists

The Danish public sector health portal Sundhed.dk has won the prestigious eEurope Awards prize as the year's best European health project on the internet. Sundhed.dk was chosen from 32 finalists at an award ceremony in Ireland, which currently holds the rotating EU presidency. A winning combination of a public web portal and a health data net secured Sundhed.dk the top position.

Sundhed.dk was launched in December 2003. The vision of Sundhed.dk is to create a one-for-all portal, concentrating comprehensive healthcare information in one place and creating direct access to the system for healthcare professionals and citizens alike. A national health data net forms the backbone of the portal, which is under continuous development. The news is reported by online IT newspaper Comon and on Sundhed.dk.
