2004.06.01
In a new ECTA report, Denmark has been ranked 3rd of ten EU countries regarding effectiveness of national telecom regulations

In a new report published by the European Competitive Telecommunications Association (ECTA), Denmark has been ranked No.3 in a Regulatory Scorecard carried out among 10 EU countries regarding the effectiveness of national telecom regulatory regimes. Great Britain is at the top of the list followed by Ireland.

According to the report, levels of investment in telecom are strongly affected by the effectiveness of the regulatory regime. Analysis of the relationship between the scorecard results and investment figures provided by the OECD shows that as much as 90% of the variation between countries in levels of investment can be explained by the quality of the regulatory environment. The news is reported on ECTA's website.
