Aalborg in northern Jutland is to host the first International Wireless Summit – IWS 2005 – from 17-22 September. The event forms a natural follow-up to the annually held Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC) Symposia, inaugurated in 1998 as a global platform for mutual cooperation and discussions in the field of wireless information and multimedia communications.

IWS 2005 provides a platform for establishing cooperation and exchange of expertise among scientific organizations, industry and the academia worldwide in the field of wireless communications. The summit will feature three major telecom activities: a WPMC symposium, a strategic workshop to discuss new strategies for the development of modern telecommunications, and a Wireless Science Park event bringing together industrialists and researchers from science parks, industries, universities and research laboratories - all within the field of telecommunication and information technology.

IWS 2005 also includes a wireless exhibition. IWS 2005 is organized and hosted by Aalborg University, NOVI Science Park and the Center for TeleInFrastruktur in collaboration with Yokosuka Research Park R&D Promotion Committee and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Japan. The venue of IWS 2005 is the Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre, Aalborg, Denmark.
