Energi Danmark ESS invests in broadband network in south Jutland  

The energy supplier plans to invest DKK 15 mn in a fiber optic cable network to supply internet broadband connections with a speed of up to 9.2 MB/sec

Energi Danmark ESS plans to invest DKK 15 mn (USD 2.4 mn) in a fibre optic cable network in the south of Jutland, to supply broadband internet connections with a speed of up to 9.2 MB/sec. Update Danmark, a supplier of high capacity broadband infrastructure, will provide the technical solution. The system is expected to be operative in 6 months for customers primarily in the towns of Haderslev, Aabenraa and Sønderborg. The news is reported by Computerworld.


Denmark was recently ranked No. 1 in the eEurope 2005 Index, which measures the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and internet usage in the 25 EU member states and 3 candidate countries. The index, which is a composite of 5 key indicators, ranked Denmark particularly high on access to the internet, online public services and dynamic e-business environment.
