Exact Software Denmark A/S has set up a subsidiary in Copenhagen, having looked at both Denmark and Sweden in order to find the optimal location. According to Jenny Buyck, of Exact Software HQ in Delft, the Danish capital's gateway position was a key factor in the choice.
“Copenhagen came out as a natural choice for us due to its strategic location, availability of skilled workforce and regional infrastructure providing a first class environment for an international hub.”
Invest in Denmark and Copenhagen Capacity have been in contact for more than a year with Exact Software and have provided information and assistance across a range of issues as part of the location decision process.
“Invest in Denmark and Copenhagen Capacity supported us in the process with information on tax and labour issues, competencies and salary levels, real estate and much more.” says Jenny Buyck.
Exact Software's decision to set up a subsidiary in Denmark comes at a particularly timely moment, since a 64-nation survey recently published by Economist Intelligence Unit in conjunction with IBM shows that Denmark has become the world No.1 for e-commerce, toppling Sweden from the top spot that it occupied last year. “We are very happy to welcome Exact Software to Denmark at exactly the moment when Denmark has become the world No.1 for e-commerce” says Investment Manager in Invest in Denmark, Lene Mauvais. Exact Software Denmark will reinforce the company's international network of subsidiaries. According to Jacob Heiberg, General Manager for the new division, the focus will be on international companies, and Exact Software Denmark will build all the necessary localization in language and legislation to meet the needs of Danish subsidiary.
“We are starting with 8 people and expect to become a team of 15 people in a year's time. We aim to target the Danish ERP market, of which Navision currently has a 70% share. In Denmark efficiency gains in knowledge management and work processes have tremendous impact on business profitability. The market is ripe for new software products, as the current products use older and much less integrated technology, so I am sure we will be successful in Denmark” says Jacob Heiberg.
