The latest half year report from IO Interactive shows a profit before tax of DKK 7.1 mn, 40% more than for the whole of 2003

The latest half year report from IO Interactive (IOI) shows a profit before tax of DKK 7.1 mn (USD 1.3 mn), 40% more than the whole of 2003. Revenues for the first six months of 2004 were DKK 60.2 mn (USD 10.8 mn) compared to DKK 89.3 mn (USD 16.1 mn) for the whole of 2003. IOI launched its 3rd game in the popular Hitman series in April this year, and by the end of June 1.6 million copies had been sold. In the last four years, IOI has sold 6.5 million copies of its games worldwide. Despite outsourcing of graphics tasks to Asia, IOI expects to employ more people in Denmark. The news is reported by online IT news site Comon.

 

In March this year, UK's largest video game developer and publisher Eidos acquired IOI for DKK 313 million (USD 50 million). IOI, which operates from Copenhagen, develops advanced computer games for the global market. Using proprietary technologies, the company's products are represented on all major formats such as PC, Xbox, PS2 and GameCube.
