The Danish Fund for Industrial Growth has invested in more IT companies in the first months of this year compared to the same period last year

The Danish Fund for Industrial Growth (Vækstfonden) has invested in more IT companies in the first months of 2004 compared to the same period last year. Jimmy Fussing Nielsen, head of the fund's Technologies Venture says there is clear growth in the IT area. The Danish Fund for Industrial Growth is being presented with far more exciting projects than previously and is now expecting to make up to 12 investments in 2004.

 

With a capital base of DKK 2 billion (USD 320 million), the Danish Fund for Industrial Growth is one of the largest Danish based VC players. The fund is a state supported company providing capital to fast-growing companies. It acts as a fund-of-funds investor in the private equity sector in the Nordic region. Focus areas include early stage investments in companies in sectors such as life science, medical technology, IT and high-tech. The news is reported by national broadsheet Berlingske Tidende online.
