A joint Danish and Swedish biotech promotion is currently ongoing at the world's largest biotechnology event, the BIO 2004 Annual International Convention in San Francisco. The event is taking place from June 6-9 and more than 16,000 biotech executives, investors, journalists, policymakers and scientists from more than 55 countries are expected to attend.
15 Danish and Swedish companies have a shared Medicon Valley stand together with Copenhagen Capacity and its sister organisation Position Skåne (representing a region in southern Sweden). Anne Hvolby, consultant at Copenhagen Capacity, says it is a unique opportunity for small biotech companies in particular to market themselves.
The Danish companies represented are Combio, CMC Biopharmaceuticals, Novo Nordisk, PolyPeptide Laboratories, Plougmann & Vingtoft, Scion DTU and Exiqon. From Sweden the participators are Alligator, Camurus, Ludesi, Lund University, Clinical Data Care, Novozymes Biopharma and Stricent. Medicon Valley Academy is also present. The news is reported by national broadsheet Berlingske Tidende.
